Natural Habitat

Slow-moving rivers and flooded forests of the Amazon basin, among dense vegetation and submerged root systems.

Feeding

Omnivorous. Flake, pellets, frozen bloodworms, brine shrimp. Will eat very small fish (Neon Tetras).

Compatible Tank Mates

Breeding

Substrate spawner — pairs clean a flat surface and lay eggs in neat rows. Both parents guard eggs and fan them. Relatively easy to breed once a compatible pair forms.
