Natural Habitat

Shallow rice paddies, floodplains, and slow-moving streams in Southeast Asia. Naturally found in warm, stagnant water with dense vegetation.

Feeding

Carnivorous — high-quality betta pellets, frozen bloodworms, brine shrimp, daphnia. Avoid low-quality flake food.

Compatible Tank Mates

Breeding

Bubble nest builder. Male builds nest at surface, courts female, wraps around her to release eggs. Male guards nest — remove female after spawning. Fry need infusoria.
