Widely considered the most beautiful gourami. Covered in shimmering pearl-like spots across a lace-like pattern. Males develop an intense red-orange chest during breeding. A showpiece centrepiece fish.

Natural Habitat

Acidic, heavily vegetated swamps and lowland streams in Southeast Asia. Often in very warm, still water.

Feeding

Omnivorous. Flake, pellets, frozen foods, insects. Will eat small surface insects.

Breeding

Bubble nest builder. Male builds elaborate nest under floating plants. Beautiful courtship display.
